The reason it's called "The Resort" on Cocoa Beach is because it's the premier resort right on one of America's most enjoyable beaches on the warm Atlantic Ocean - with Cape Canaveral in clear view off to the left.

What makes a truly memorable vacation? – Staying at the right resort at the right time of the year.

What does this resort have to offer?

From the moment you drive in you feel like you've arrived at the Caribbean Islands.  The fountains in the foyer are magnificent.

After a friendly check-in you get to see your Atlantic Ocean front luxury accommodation overlooking miles of golden beaches.  Spend your early mornings on a very large private balcony drinking coffee watching a glorious sunrise.

• A large hot tub/whirlpool spa

• A large well fitted out gym at which you can do full circuit training & sauna

• A movie theater with non-stop family entertainment

Where is Cocoa Beach?

Halfway down the peninsula of Florida, U.S.A. on the warm Atlantic Ocean (with real waves - not like the Gulf's 10" piddlers).  It's one hour East of Orlando, home of Disney World, Epcot Center, Seaworld, Universal Studios, etc.

Standing on the beach in front of the resort you have a grand stand view of Kennedy Space Center, where at the right times of the year you won't only be able to see a shuttle launch, but feel the ground vibrating under your feet and the night sky lighting up as if it was day.

Cocoa Beach is a romantic thin strip of land that has the wide Banana & Indian Rivers separating it from the mainland of Florida.

What is there to do at Cocoa Beach?

• Right in front of The Resort you can enjoy a perfect level beach with white sand - deck chairs and umbrella's available for renting - or bring your own.

• Swim for hours in the glorious warm Atlantic Ocean or surf, boggy board or body surf in its good sized, but gentle waves that don't bash you over - even young children feel safe in this sea lover’s paradise.

• Go for long enjoyable walks on miles of flat beaches (some ride their bikes), pick up seashells, enjoy the seagulls diving for fish, watch the surfers or play volleyball.

• Shop, eat or go fishing on The Pier.

• Take a tour of Kennedy Space Center & the NASA museum (the shear magnitude of the moon rocket will blow you away - I could hardly pull myself away from it), touch a moon rock, go into space in the iMax 3D movie theatre (wow!!! - now that was the most amazing and worthwhile experience of a lifetime - definitely the 8th and very best wonder out of this world).

• Take a boat trip from the port of Cape Canaveral.

• Go scuba diving or snorkeling.

• Try your hand at sailing or windsurfing.

• Choose from several of Florida's great golf courses or enjoy a family evening of miniature golf.

• Enjoy a game of tenpin bowling.

• Great fishing - off the beach, The Pier, in either of the 2 rivers, off an airboat in the swamps, or deep sea fishing.

• Cocoa Village - shop for trinkets, souvenirs or a host of local wares at this quaint village - spoil yourself to a treat at a coffee shop or enjoy a fine meal - listen to a live band - meet international tourists from one of many cruise ships that make Cocoa Beach a must stop.

• Spend an evening touring Ron Jon's surfers paradise - the biggest surf shop in the world - occupying 1½ city blocks - with far more than surfers wares to tickle your fancy.

• Go to the 6 movie theater complex.

Where do I eat?

Besides The Resorts own unique restaurant you can eat at most of America's well known restaurant franchises or ask the locals and discover scores of amazing exclusive restaurants to satisfy your taste-buds - an romantic evening meal on The Pier's 'Atlantic Ocean Grille' (321.783.7549) is a must - the Chinese restaurant on Merritt Island (which is the home of Kennedy Space Center) across the road from the tenpin bowling alley is of the very best I've ever been to - there are far too many good restaurants to mention here.

Price:

The regular price at this spacious ocean front 5 star luxury resort is $270 + 11% per night - but we're letting ours go for $999.00 for the week - and this is hard to find prime time.  The International Palms charges $1,638.00 a week for half the floor area of ocean front accommodation.  A $249.00 deposit to secure your booking is required.  The balance needs to be paid 30 days before the vacation week.

(This is for the larger Ocean-FRONT unit, not the smaller Ocean-VIEW units that have a very limited side view of the ocean if you lean over the balcony - this is because of the building next door - well there is just no comparison).

Tip:

Try to arrive around lunch time to secure a room with a superior ocean/beach view on the 6th or 5th floors - preferably on the front/left hand side of the building.  This is not essential, as all ocean front rooms are truly magnificent - but this is our personal preference.
